Kinvara Area Music (KAM) is a local, not for profit organisation promoting an eclectic mix of music and performance to the community here in Kinvara, County Galway.
Concert committee members help produce each concert and work to present performing artists in the best possible way.
We have two venues in which we hold concerts:
- The ‘GiG Room’ at the Kinvara Community Centre – is a curtained-off portion of the main hall with a modular stage and modern theatrical lighting. It has the feel of a performing arts facility, but with a warm, inviting ambience. It works well with acoustic music or sound reinforcement, and we think it meets well our requirement for intimate listening concerts.
- The second venue is the KAVA Courthouse, where we produce with KAVA smaller concerts on the first Saturday of each month. The Courthouse is a smaller building, dedicated especially to visual arts, but also hosting musical and other events.
KAM is open to anyone who supports its aim of furthering the musical and cultural life of Kinvara.
You don’t have to be a musician to get involved!
Our Vision:
A lively, diverse and inclusive cultural scene in the Kinvara area
Known far and wide for its traditional music, our village has in recent years attracted many highly talented musicians playing in a variety of musical genres: traditional Irish, tango, cajun, blues, old-time, bluegrass, folk, rock, classical, jazz, original, and the list is growing with lots of young people learning, playing and performing.
KAM projects help to nurture these resources and maintain this vibrant fulfilling environment.
Our Mission:
To maintain a lively and creative forum to support and help develop musical and performance activities in Kinvara.
